Tenkara Camp Out

Heritage Tenkara Project will be hosting a tenkara get together from March 27th to March 31st . The event will take place at the Kuykendall Group Campground in the Pisgah National Forest. The address is 1161 Catheys Creek Road #9617, Brevard, NC 28712.

This tenkara meet up came to fruition after visiting Brevard, NC after hurricane Helene reigned havoc on the area and got to fish with a few locals. I caught fish and was absolutely enamored and encouraged by their spunk and passion for the outdoors and tenkara especially after the devastation caused by Helene! I wanted to go to a tenkara event last year in the Spring in Western NC, but ended up planning a trip for Europe. This year, I will be making sure to spend time with the community in Western North Carolina and get in some great fishing as well. There will be some local vendors on-site at Kuykendall throughout the weekend and I encourage everyone to get out and support the locals as they were hit hard this past year.

The group campground does have a hosting amount of up to 60 people. I do not suppose we will beat that number, but maybe the community will prove me wrong! If so, there are several other local campgrounds and Airbnbs nearby. However, this campground is already paid for and ready to have people roll up and be surrounded by tenkara anglers.
